Many people take a practice test at the very beginning of MCAT preparation. This is usually not such a good idea. The exam shows itself in a false perception. It looks incredibly difficult, and this can damage self-efficacy. It can be hard to overcome this perception later. Picture the famous image of the rabbit which is also a duck, a multistable image. It looks like a rabbit, but it is actually a duck. Familiarize yourself with the format of the test at the beginning, but save the full lengths until you've completed more content review and can see the exam for what it is.
