Consciousness is like the surface of the ocean. Most of the activity in your mind is below the surface, the unconscious. Your unconscious mind is always at work. You may run into a topic that doesn't yield so easily to conscious understanding, but when you return to it three days later, the topic is now perfectly clear. What happened? Your unconscious mind has been figuring it all out. There's an art to facilitating this process.
