Electrophoresis of serum proteins
Electrophoresis of serum proteins.

Proteins in the blood plasma endow the fluid with colloidal osmotic pressure, making blood plasma hypertonic to the interstitial fluid. Plasma proteins are also an important component of the system buffering blood pH. Other plasma proteins play specific rolls, as hormones, for example, or immunoglobulins.
