For questions missed in section bank and practice tests, look at the answer choices and do a tally. See if a pattern exists where correct answers are more often than not below the choice selected, choosing 'B' with the correct answer 'D', for example, more often than choosing 'D' with correct answer 'B'. This pattern reflects the common human tendency to rely too heavily on the first piece of information offered when making decisions. Psychologists call this 'anchoring'. It happens with the most subtle questions, often in CARS. No matter how tempting the first decent answer sounds, try to withhold judgment and process all the answer choices before you choose.
